Imagine arriving early at a hostel and carrying your belongings until check-in. Now imagine staying in one hotel and opening your bag like a small suitcase each morning. The carrying part of the day
The current Farpoint 40 gives you an adjustable torso fit and a supporting frame. Those features make it a sensible candidate when the route includes walking with a full load. They still need to match your body. An unsuitable harness remains unsuitable even when its design is more elaborate.
Allpa shoppers should examine the straps and hipbelt of the particular capacity and generation they want. Do not transfer a comfort verdict from the 28 to the 42 or from an older edition to a newer one. The larger load you are tempted to bring can change the experience more than a small difference in empty weight.
The unpacking part of the day
The Allpa travel-pack concept emphasizes opening the bag and separating belongings into defined areas. That is appealing when you want clothing and smaller items to retain their places as the trip progresses. It also means you should consider whether your existing packing cubes suit the available spaces.
Farpoint offers broad access to its main compartment. Think about whether you prefer using your own organizers or relying on the bag's layout. There is no inherent virtue in either approach. A traveler carrying awkwardly shaped equipment may prefer a less prescribed space, while someone who repeatedly loses socks among chargers may appreciate stronger boundaries.
Choose a fair size pairing
Farpoint 40 against Allpa 35 is a realistic shortlist, but it is not an equal-capacity laboratory comparison. Allpa 42 introduces another set of exterior dimensions and a larger packing allowance. Keep the three numbers visible while comparing; otherwise a feature discussion can quietly become a debate between different amounts of luggage.
Use the same hypothetical load for each candidate: perhaps a laptop, one spare pair of shoes, a wash kit and clothing for a laundry interval. Set aside the things you would remove to make the smaller option work. This makes the trade-off concrete without pretending that every traveler gets a fixed number of days from a given liter rating.
Where neither bag can make the decision for you
An airline's carry-on policy applies to the packed exterior, ticket allowance and weight. A brand's travel label does not guarantee acceptance. Check the exact model in the airline tool, and remember that a stiff laptop or overfilled front area can prevent a soft bag from compressing as much as expected.
