The Räven 28 has an organizer’s approach to the daypack. Fjällräven combines a large main compartment, front mesh organization, a fleece-lined top pocket and laptop accommodation for the small equipment that makes up a varied day.
Several places for small equipment
The 28L model gives documents, accessories and personal items more defined homes than an open travel compartment. That can be useful when you alternate between a desk and local outings and do not want every cable inside a separate pouch.
The manufacturer lists a 15-inch laptop category and publishes laptop dimensions. Check your device in its carried case against the detailed specification, especially if it is unusually thick. A named capacity does not remove the need for that separate fit check.
A material choice with care consequences
The official specification identifies G-1000 HeavyDuty construction and a leather top handle. This is a more particular ownership choice than an unspecified synthetic backpack. Read the care entry: the page directs gentle care with a soft brush and lukewarm water and prohibits dry cleaning and tumble drying.
The organization is the reason to shortlist it; the material is something to choose knowingly. If you want a bag to throw into a washing machine after frequent dirty trips, this is not a sensible assumption to make about the Räven.
Choose its everyday strengths
Compare it with a more open clamshell pack for clothing-heavy travel. Choose the Räven when compartment-level organization and everyday use account for most of the journey.
