An opening suited to a substantial load
Osprey's current Porter 65 has a broad duffel-style opening and internal organization. Its padded WingJacket compression wraps the sides to stabilize contents, especially when the pack is not full. Use compression after arranging the load; it can control loose space, but it cannot make a heavy collection of equipment easier to lift by changing its weight.
The current layout includes separate laptop access, a quick-access toiletries pocket and an exterior-access shoe compartment. These features can keep frequently handled or dirty items apart from clothing. Match the retailer's version before relying on that exact arrangement, because a familiar Porter name does not establish that every generation uses the same pockets.
